João Nuno Barros, partner of BMFS | Porto Law, recently published the book entitled “Arbitragem Comercial Internacional – A Escolha do Direito Aplicável ao Mérito do Litígio” through the publisher Novas Edições Académicas.
The main theme of the book is the study of the matter about the process and object of choice of the law applicable to the merits of the dispute in the context of international commercial arbitration, highlighting the analysis of the principle of the parties’ autonomy, as well as the inquiry about the extension of the powers that are conferred to the arbitral tribunal, if the parties have not agreed in this regard.
